Youths from Umujiriji, Ehume in Obowo LGA has stopped the National Center for Disease Control, NCDC, and Imo COVID-19 Taskforce from carrying out their legitimate duty of contact tracing of suspected indigenes who had physical contact with the NCDC official recorded 3rd case of COVID-19 in Imo State.

According information made available to IfeanyiCy blog, a prominent son of Obowo community, in Imo State had returned from Northern State of Kano and had tested positive to deadly Coronavirus according to official report of the NCDC . The man whose samples had been collected, tested and confirmed positive is currently at Imo Isolation center, Owerri recieving treatment.

The NCDC/and Imo COVID-19 TASKFORCE had returned to the aforementioned community to trace contacts of those who may have had physical contact with the healthy carrier of COVID-19, but youths of the area numbering about fifteen (15) stopped the official of NCDC and Imo COVID-19 TASKFORCE, questioning why they should take their people who had not developed any signs or symptoms of COVID-19.

The protesting youths who had alleged that COVID-19 is a scam, reiterated how their returnee businessman cum brother bought bags of rice and shared to their village on return.
