In keeping to our earlier report and the need to update our readers and general public the true position of the health status of Mr Christogonus Aguwa Osuagwu, the CEO of FANCY HOTEL, Umuguma, Owerri, Imo State.
IfeanyiCy Blog has obtained with facts that Chief Aguwa is dead. He was said to have died yesterday at Abuja for a probable case of COVID-19.
I used the word probable because he remains a suspect of Coronavirus infection due to his history of travel within the period. Mr Aguwa has returned from abroad and developed illness symptomatic to COVID-19.
I can only confirm that he is dead, according to a reliable family source from his home town in Ahiazu Mbaise. What I can not confirm is if he died of COVID-19.
Reasons, there was no record of his health status and death with the National Center for Disease Control, NCDC, at their latest update. As of this morning, the official Nigeria death report is one (1). At NCDC, when samples are collected it takes two days to be out because what Nigeria is doing is swab test not test kit because of the high sensitivity. I am not sure he was tested. If he was his result will be updated even in death, IfeanyiCy Blog reports.
Meanwhile, Imo state government has taken necessary precautionary measures to lock down his hotel at road 7, Umuguma, Imo Housing Easte, all lodged guests including his security orderly has been isolated and quarantined in the hotel for a period of 14 days waiting for clinical examinations.
Furthermore, his family members at Obohia, Ahiazu Mbaise LGA has been identified by the government of Imo State and quarantined too.
Aguwa was said to have returned to Nigeria from COVID-19 prone countries (Europe) in the last few days. He reportedly left Abuja to his Hotel in Owerri, later visited his family at Ahiazu Mbaise LGA, before returning back to Abuja were he died of unconfirmed illness, though suspected to be COVID-19.
