- Volunteerily return our assets.
Nwanne Govano Reports:
Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, the governor of Imo state has cautioned the members of the Imo state Recovery team to carry out their tasks of recovering looted public properties of the state by the members of the immediate past administration by respecting the rights and diginities of the suspected looters.
Ihedioha handed down this notes of caution while addressing the stakeholders of the state in the morning saying "..I must caution this committee to respect the rights and dignity of suspected looters of government property,".
He also admonished the alleged looters " to voluntarily hand over these assets to the committee".
The governor said that the state has "taken a firm resolve to recover and return to Imo people their assets" warning that "no one individual is bigger than the state".
He called on the law enforcement agencies to "assist the committee in carrying out this important assignment".
While assuring the people of his resolve to "recover and return" all looted assets to Imo people, he decried that his predecessor left a hostile environment for him as there were delayed "hand-over without proper documentation, no functional offices, no vehicles or equipment, hostile environment with personnel poised to sabotage a smooth take off".
