The Imo state Commissioner for Economic Planning, Budget and Statistics, Dr.
Iyke Njoku, has been honoured by the Institute of Policy Management Development (IPMB).
The fellowship Award was conferred on Njoku weekend in Owerri.
According to the institute, the award was bestowed on the commissioner, “having made eminent achievements in the field of human endeavour through the application of policy management principles, dedication and commitment to efficient service delivery and having demonstrated the virtues of professional excellence and selfless service to humanity and national development”.
Njoku whose area of specialization is Developmental Economics and Financial Management, has served in several capacities.
Two time Economic Adviser to the Governor of Imo state (2015 – 2016 and 2016 – 2017,); Member Imo state Education Trust Fund Committee; Coordinator CBN/Imo state MSME empowerment programme; Transition Committee Chairman, Ezinihitte Local Government (September 2015 – December 2015) and Commissioner of Finance (2014 – 2015).
Njoku also served as Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Imo state on Finance and Economic Planning (2013 – 2014); Senior Management Staff of Zenith Bank Plc, Abuja; Business/Financial Development Specialist/Revenue Mobilization with Chase Bank, New York, USA (2005 – 2007); Financial Consultant with HSBS Finance (1999 – 2001) and Cash Operator with United Bank for Africa (UBA) Nigeria (NYSC, 1998 – 1999).
He holds BSc. Economics and class Upper Division, University of Nigeria Nsuka; MBA in Business Administration and Management, Strayer University, Washington DC, USA; Leadership and Economic Change (Harvard Business School); Leadership and Public Service Ethics (Lee Kuan Yew University, Singapore) and Honorary Doctorate Degree (Colorade University USA).
