The atmosphere was charged as the state Working Committee of the All Progressive Congress, APC, ably led by the State Chairman, Mr Daniel M Nwafor, alongside other party leaders and stakeholders stormed the Owerri North Local Government Area and Ngor Okpala LGA for the Party's sensitization rally to interact and interface with party faithfuls ahead of Saturday’s proposed Local Government and in preparation for the 2019 general election.
The party train which arrived Owerri North from Obowo LGA by 3pm had the creme` of stakeholders in attendance, including the 2019 Imo governorship aspirant of the party, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, aspirants for the National and State Assembly, as well as those contesting for Saturday's LGA election.
Speaking to the women and youths who trooped out to welcome him, the State Chairman urged party faithfuls to remain committed to the ideals and programs of the party, assuring them of democracy dividends.
Mr Nwafor handed party flag to Councillorship and Chairmanship candidate of the party for the Saturday’s LGA election. He charged them to go and seek the mandate of their people and win to serve the people at the grassroot with fear of God and dedication to serves.
Other party leaders who spoke at the rally include the Secretary to the State Government, Sir George Eche, Hon Commissioner, Bar Mrs Ugochi Nnanna Okoro, Owerri Senatorial Aspirant, Chief Emma Ojinere, party chieftain, Okenze Sylvester Obinna, member representing Ngor Okpala in the state Assembly, Hon Obinna Egu, and 2019 Gubernatorial Hopeful, Chief Uche Nwosu.
