Billionaire businessman and politician Senator Ifeanyi Godwin Araraume has been recommended for study in Imo Political hemisphere.

History has it that Chief Ikedi Ohakim and his brother Chief Ifeanyi Araraume has been of good business and social understanding, friendship and relationship. Ohakim was reported to have influenced his brother millionaire, Chief Ararume’s venture into partisan politics while working as a consultant. Ohakim our sources reliably gathered talked Araraume into contributing financially to Chief Evans Enwerem gubernatorial contest in 1992. As a financer and investor of the political era, Chief Ararume was requested to nominate someone into the government of Chief Evans Enwerem, he was said to have recommended his brother politician who introduced him to then Governor, Chief Evans Enwerem and Ohakim was appointed Commissioner for Commerce and Industry between 1992 to 1993 before the military struck and overthrew the government at the center.

In the return of democratic governance in 1998/99, while Chief Ararume returned fully into active politics and was made State Chairman of All Peoples Party, APP, Ohakim was contesting for Okigwe Senatorial District election under the Peoples Democratic Party which he was a foundation member. In what look like a smart political maneuvering, Araraume was said to have abandoned APP to hijack PDP senatorial ticket from Ikedi Ohakim, and was subsequently declared the senator for Okigwe zone. An action which created political distrust between best friends of before. For Araraume's eight years in the National Assembly as Senator representing Okigwe Zone, Ohakim felt cheated and that was said to be the cross of their political journey of no love lost.

Between 1999 and 2003, Senator Ifeanyi Araraume was a strong pillar to Chief Achike Udenwa administration as governor of Imo State. The then Governor who was facing strong opposition from the likes of Senator Arthur Nzeribe, Chief Hope Uzodinma, Sir Tony Ezenna, Chief Rochas Okorocha amongst others, need Senator Ifeanyi Godwin Araraume to weather the storm of opposition against his government , by so doing promised to hand over power to Senator Ifeanyi Godwin Araraume as Governor of Imo State in 2007.

Trusting Governor Achike Udenwa, Senator Araraume helped to build a strong synergy between the state government, Peoples Democratic Party and attracted Federal presence to Imo State, chiefly is the inclusion of Imo into Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, which he chairs it's commission in the National Assembly.
At home front, he formed, built and developed a wonderful political structure name Destiny Organization. The body hijacked the state PDP executive in a fierce battle of Supremacy with Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, Chief Mrs Kema Chikwe and amongst others, believing Governor Udenwa will support him in keeping to earlier promise, but was disappointed Udenwa reneged on gubernatorial support and declare total war on Senator Ifeanyi Godwin Araraume's governorship ambition.

The never say die Senator was reported to have hijacked the Peoples Democratic Party structure from all opposing forces and was declared winner of the party primary meant to choose the flag bearer of the 2007 Imo Governorship Election.
Governor Achike Udenwa redemption group popularly known as Onungono led by Dr Alex Obi mobilized all forces to stop Araraume including the then country President, Chief Olusegun Mathew Obasanjo but Supreme Court of Nigeria said no, in a landmark political judgement of "cogent and verifiable case of unlawful substitution of Araraume's name with that of Engr Charles Ugwu who was Obasanjo's anointed candidate for the 2007 Imo Gubernatorial contest.

Being frustrated, Governor Achike Udenwa moved his redemption structure to All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, candidate, Chief Martin Agbaso from Owerri Zone. But then Independent Electoral Commission, INEC, Chairman Prof Maurice Iwu said no, it's the turn of Okigwe zone to produce Governor after Orlu Zone. Insisting that as Okigwe son, he will not watch his People's rights and privilege be denied of them, that If Araraume is not good for Udenwa and Obasanjo, another Okigwe son should be supported irrespective of political party, as party then wasn't an option but political structure with mass appeal to win election.

President Olusegun Obasanjo and Governor Achike Udenwa reconciled their political difference just to stop Araraume from being Imo State Governor. Then opportunity meets preparedness, Dr Ikedi Ohakim, 2007 gubernatorial candidate of the PPA was given necessary political support and he emerged Governor of Imo State winning the PDP candidate Senator Ifeanyi Godwin Araraume.

Again, Araraume and Ohakim's political rivalry raises it's ugly head, Senator Ifeanyi Araraume took Ohakim to court which lasted for two years up to the Supreme Court, the APGA candidate, Chief Agbaso also took Ohakim to Court, from Federal High Court to Appeal Court and ended in Supreme Court. Ohakim emerged victorious in all but was politically wounded.

In 2011, while Rochas Okorocha was merrying and enjoying with Ohakim administration, Araraume led a combined political force never seen in the history of Imo State to stop Ohakim's reelection, the group which includes President Goodluck Jonathan, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, Governor Achike Udenwa, Chief Martin Agbaso, Chief Alex Obi, Captain Emmanuel Iheanacho, Dr Pascal Dozie, Prof Maurice Iwu, Sir Cosmas Iwu, Prof Anthony Anwuka, Sir PC Onuoha, Dr Ukaegbu, Archbishop AJV Obinna, Rev Fr Ejike Mbaka, Senator Chris Anyanwu, Sir Jude Ejiogu, Sir Emeka Ofor, Chief Ifeanyi Uba, Chief Arthur Eze, etc, all formed a coalition, Alliance for good governance with sole aim to stop Ohakim's reelection supported heavily by then country's President, Goodluck Jonathan. Ohakim lost, Owelle Rochas Okorocha become the beneficiary of the struggle, as he was told to leave his aspiration for Orlu Senatorial seat to contest for Governorship under APGA, the Anambra billionaires were reported to have paid and settled Chief Martin Agbaso to hand over APGA ticket to Rochas Okorocha. He was subsequently declared Governor of Imo State after a fierce political battle which was made possible through Supplementary election introduced to Nigeria political lexicon for the first time.

In 2015, Hon Emeka Ihedioha becoming waring of Ohakim return to contest for 2015 Imo Gubernatorial election, went with Amb. Kema Chikwe to plead with Araraume to return to Peoples Democratic Party to help him win 2015 Imo Governorship Election. Ihedioha ensured Araraume was given a heroic return to PDP with lots of promises.

Like a thunder bolt, Ihedioha who was said to have brought Araraume to cage Ohakim should incase he pose a threat to his gubernatorial contest in 2015 as the Deputy Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, was shocked to his marrow when the strong man of Imo Politics declared to contest for the 2015 Imo Governorship Election under the platform of the People's Democratic Party. Araraume only appealed for free and fair party primaries. Ihedioha who believed he has the party structure in his pocket accepted. But unfortunately, Senator Ifeanyi Araraume who just returned to the party dusted Ihedioha and others in the party primary held at Dan Anyiam stadium Owerri. No, Ihedioha couldn't take it, flying high as Deputy Speaker of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, numbers were manufactured in the electoral process and shockingly, Ihedioha was declared winner of the primary.  Senator Ifeanyi Godwin Araraume went to court, petition Peoples Democratic Party National leadership. He couldn't get justice, yes, Ihedioha was number 6 in Nigeria political ranking then. Senator Ifeanyi Godwin Araraume vowed to stop him from being Imo Governor in 2015, rather he went into political marriage with Okorocha who took his darling wife, Nkechi Okorocha to beg Araraume to come and Rescue him that he will hand over to him in 2019.

Governor Rochas Okorocha won his reelection with yet another supplementary election, and overwhelmingly thanked Senator Ifeanyi Godwin Araraume for making his reelection possible. He nicknamed Araraume, the game changer.

Today Okorocha has also reneged on his promise to handover power to Senator Ifeanyi Godwin Araraume rather to his son-in-law, Chief Uche Nwosu. Araraume had said it's not possible, Okorocha is feeling the heat and crying. Let's wait for 2019 Imo Governorship Election to know who wins.

Senator Ifeanyi Godwin Araraume is truly a study in the Imo State political evolution, believe it or not.
