The 29-year old Nigeria international was surprisingly dropped to the reserves last year after the Chinese Super League club signed another striker to replace him and he has given reasons why he found himself in such an awkward situation.
He said his demotion was as a result of a misunderstanding with his club over getting his family to join him on holidays in China.
“They said I was not happy at the club and will not be able to concentrate because my family cannot join me in China,” he told ScoreNigeria.
The former West Brom striker also spoke about his future, insisting he is working on securing a loan move and expressed confidence he will get his move before the end of the current transfer window.
“I hope to go on a year’s loan from China as I still have two more years left on my contract.
“My agent is working on this and I believe before the transfer window closes, we will know where I will be.”
Ideye has previously played in Switzerland, France, Ukraine, Greece as well as in the Premier League with West Bromwich Albion.
