Chelsea are set to make Thibaut Courtois the highest paid goalkeeper in the world by offering him more than £200,000 a week.
The 25-year old Belgian has been linked with a move to Real Madrid and Chelsea are looking to tie him down to a new deal, and they are confident they will get the goalkeeper to sign the contract that will see overtake David De Gea as the world’s best-paid goalkeeper.
According to reports, the deal on offer at Stamford Bridge also includes bonuses according to The Telegraph, the Belgian's current £100,000-a-week deal, which runs out at the end of next season, will be extended until 2023.
Courtois has been a long-term target of Real Madrid but the Spaniards appear increasingly likely to sign Athletic Bilbao keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga in January.
It is understood Courtois, who spent three seasons on loan at Atletico Madrid, wants to return  to Spain.
