Imo state governor Rochas Okorocha yesterday
October 14,  2017 unveiled a giant statue of South Africa president Jacob Zuma in Owerri, the Imo State capital. Zuma is on a two day visit to Owerri, South East Nigeria.

President Jacob Zuma was, honoured with prestigious "Imo Merit Award" by the government of Imo State. He also commissioned the road that was named after him in recognition of his endless fight for freedom and impact in ensuring the education of the African child.

The event marked the official signing of MoU between Rochas Foundation and Zuma Foundation as the students of Rochas Foundation College of Africa gathered to welcome the South African president to Imo State.

He was conferred a traditional chieftaincy title of "Ochiagha Imo" by the state governor, led in chief by the State Chairman of Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers, HRM Eze Samuel Agunwa Ohiri, an old road Athan Ogor road was renamed after Zuma and then, a statue of him unveiled in Owerri city.
