Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyer has in a new interview, explained why he filed a suit against the chief of army staff, Tukur Buratai, on behalf of his client.
The lawyer, Mr. Ifeanyi Ejiofor revealed that the Nigerian military had the last contact with his client on September 14, when soldiers invaded Kanu's residence in Afara Ukwu, Umuahia. And Kanu, his client called to inform him on phone that he was in his bedroom when the military attacked.
However, he said he is yet to communicate with his client since the military invasion as he might have either being killed or taken away from his bedroom by the soldiers.
"Before they gained access into his house, he called me on phone to say they (the military) had gained access to his place and that there were gunshots going on around his father's house then. "I had to also issue a statement to that effect. Thereafter, I ceased to have any communication with him until date; I have not heard from him. "
