The youths of Saint Mary's Catholic parish Eziama -Oboh in the Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of IMO state have honoured a former Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Ikedi Ohakim,Chief Chikwem Onuoha and a renowned philanthropist, Sir Duke Chukwuka Agwunobi.
The pillar of the youths awards, according to the youths were in recognition of the outstanding roles and support the awardees have plead in the uplifting of the gospel in the parish and beyond.
The youths said "it is in recognition of your outstanding role, support and encouragement to the spreading of the gospel in our parish and that we have decided to honour you because the result for hard work Is more work.
You have shown us love and it is our desire that God will continue to use you to add value to His work and advance humanity. We are delighted that there are still young men like you who still have the burning desire to keep supporting the advancement of the kingdom ".
The parish priest who described the awardees as worthy ambassadors of God, enjoyed Onuoha and Agwunobi to keep giving towards the propagation of the kingdom of God.
The cleric said "I want to advice you to keep doing well. Keep supporting the work of God. God is interested in those who are interested Him. The awards which you have received today from the youths Is a testimony that heaven and man have taken note of your good works "
In their separate responses, Chief Onuoha advised the youths to shun acts and engagements that would tarnish their images and derail the good name of their families.
The Okigwe North house of representatives hopeful said "I want to encourage the youths to shun nefarious acts that would put the good name of their families in bad light. Shun thuggery, stealing and most importantly kidnapping. Kidnapping is rampant these days, people now trade on their fellow human beings ".
Sir Agwunobi in his response said "I advice parents to keep bringing their children closer to God. The society has lost its values, but at times like this only the fear of God through constantly hearing of His word would restrain our youths from taking to crimes.
We must keep praying for our youths. We must keep emphasising on the right values. We must keep preaching God and His words to the youths. If we must talk of a future that is crime free, secured Security wise and assured, we will keep teaching our youths the right and appropriate principles ".
The duo were equally decorated as the patrons of women of Zaraphat Foundation during 9th ordination anniversary of Rev father Chukwuma who is incharge of St Paul's Paris Osu in isiala mbano.
Speaking, Onuoha and Agwunobi promised to keep supporting the welfare of the venerable, especially the poor widows.
To them, there was no better benevolence than supporting women who have being experiencing difficulties as a result of the death of their husbands.
Onuoha and Agwunobi "by the first week of December we will be flooding this church with bags of rice, tomatoes, indomie and other food items. We want to make women, especially the widows to feel happy and have something they will use to support their families.
