Member representing Okigwe South Constituency in the National Assembly, Hon. Deacon Chike Okafor has praised the humble, humane, diligent and honest trajectories of the Chief of Staff to the Imo State Government, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, pointing out that these qualities are the main secrets of his meteoric rise in politics. The outspoken and we'll respected lawmaker and former banker stated this in Okigwe during the kickoff of a medical outreach program put together by UGWUMBA Movement as part of activities marking the 42nd birthday celebration of the real estate mogul turned politician.
"Ugwumba Uche Nwosu is my younger brother and beloved friend. He is a model of honesty, loyalty, focus, humility and faithfulness. He is a destiny helper and a very humble and sincere young man from whom millions of people have benefited and millions more shall benefit from. I recommend his sterling attributes to every young man or woman who desires to make it big in life." He stated.
Delving into politics, the chairman of the Federal House of Representatives Committee on Health Care Services and one of the most visible and influential members of the 8th House went through Memory Lane to remind Okigwe people of how every Okigwe politician coalesced into the Ikedi Ohakim second term campaign in 2011, leading to the six LGAs in the zone voting almost 100% for the then sitting governor, yet, he was defeated by Governor Okorocha. He said this did not deter Okorocha from looking the way of Okigwe zone in his developmental missions as the governor has brought more development in the zone than any administration since 1999.
According to him; "Governor Okorocha gave me my first break in politics and has since then has adopted me as a political son. It was Ugwumba Uche Nwosu whom took me to the governor for the first time. After serving as a commissioner for finance, the governor assisted me to become a member of the House of Representatives and he came to Abuja to personally negotiate for me to gain the influence I presently enjoy in the House. It is to the credit of Okorocha, our governor that I am the first lawmaker in Nigeria's present democracy to head an A-rated committee as a first timer."
Honorable Chike reiterated the position of eminent Okigwe zone politicians that; "it is in our best interest that we await for the direction of the governor as regards to 2019 and key in as soon as that happens."
