Imo residents and visitors are assured of safer environment as the Police Command has unveiled a Tactical Security Squad (TSS) armed with High Tech Crime fighting equipment and sophisticated communication gadgets.
Addressing the personnel, the Commissioner of Police, Mr Chris EZIKE informed that the modus operandi is a Pin Down setting meaning that at their various strategic locations, they will be operational 24/7.
He also notified that the men were carefully selected and specially trained for the special operations. We took time to trains them, physically, psychologically and otherwise in other to give best of service, he added.
Governor Rochas Okorocha represented by his Chief of Staff, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu are the flag off ceremony thanked the CP for his unrelenting efforts towards making Imo State safe.
According to Okorocha , CP Ezike "is justifying the huge investment of the government in the area of security. Imo State is a tourist point now and this has brought in investors and fun seekers. Every weekend, people troop in from neighboring States and their activities do improve the economic circle in Imo State. They need to be protected. Same thing to investors. Nobody will like to invest where the investment is not safe but our CP is equal to the task", he informed.
Commending further, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu stated that "one thing is to release fund,another thing is to justify the use of fund, CP EZIKE, you are doing well" , he added.
From this development, Imolites will behold a new Tactical Team positioned to tackle crimes.
