Imo state governor,Rochas Okorocha has said that immediately after he leaves office in 2019,he will assume as the Chairman of Retired Politicians in the state.
Speaking during the 35 years birthday celebration of Jasper Azuatalam,a BOT member of the All Progressive Congress,APC,and also the Executive Director Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund,(NSITF),in Uborji Okuku,in Owerri West LGA of the state.
Okorocha stated that young politicians in the state should be allowed to assume leadership position in Imo state,adding that politicians like Chief Ikedi Ohakim,Sen.Ifeanyi Araraume, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu,Sen. Arthur Nzeribe,Dr. Mrs Kema Chike,amongst others,are part of the retired politicians who will be joining him to Abuja,as he will assume the position of their Chairman.
The governor further said that Sir Jude Ejiogu,his immediate past S.G.I in the state,will not be part of those politicians that will be going to Abuja with him,as he(Ejiogu)could be compensated with an appointment in Imo state.
Meanwhile Eze Lucky Ajoku,Nnaoche III of Ihiagwa ancient kingdom,has urged sons and daughters of Owerri west LGA and Imo state at large to continue to work hard,so as to better the lives of the people.
Describing Azuatalam,as a successful young man who has worked hard at age 35years to put his people Uborji Okuku in the national and world map.
