The cold war between governor Rochas of Imo and former senator Ifeanyi Araraume all of APC ahead of 2019 governorship elections has quickly accelerated into an open confrontation.
There are now two major factions within APC Imo; one loyal to Rochas and the other to Araraume, all apparently regarding the governorship ticket for 2019.
Araraume camp continues to swell of both former and present appointees of Imo government. And they are not keeping quiet about the planned transfer of power by Rochas to his son-in-law Mr. Uche Nwosu.
Not too long ago, APC chieftain Uche Onyeagocha minced no words in condenming this immoral plot by Rochas Okorocha and his son-in-law Uche Nwosu.
A few hours ago, Vitalis Ajumbe (commissioner under Rochas) entered the fight, going to great lengths to condenm Uche Nwosu for his inordinate ambition.
In a quick reaction, one of Uche Nwosu's close allies and government appointee Pascal Onwukaike told Ajumbe, "This message here is for Ajumbe because after owelle fed you, you have now turned to fight him. I highly disappointed in you. You that was always in uche Nwosu 's house everyday? If I am an aspirant in IMO governorship election, I won't want to see you around me. You are a green snake in a green grass."
It would be recalled that Vitalis Ajumbe worked for H/E Ikedi Ohakim during the 2015 governorship election and turned against Ohakim as soon as the PDP primary for governorship didnt go the way of Ohakim; in fact, he went as far as laying unsubstantiated and wild accusations against his former boss Ohakim. Rumors had it that even while with Ohakim, he was working for Rochas who immediately made him a commissioner. Now he is attacking the same Rochas having pitched tent with Araraume.
The fight between Rochas and Araraume regarding the Apc governorship ticket has only just started.
