The oldest ex lawmaker in South East, South South Geopolitical zones of Nigeria, Hon Chief Godfrey Obiagwu Aluka has died at the ripe age of 110 years.
The centurion who represented Orlu North East county Council what is today Ideato North and South Local Government Areas of Imo State in 1962 to 1964 was equally the Local Government chairman of the the same area within the period.
A release by the family said that the dead lawmaker who was the first elected chairman of Orlu North-east would be buried on July 26,2017 at his country home, Okohia, Uzuegbu village - Umuma Isiaku in the present day Ideato South LGA of the state.
The statement which was signed by pastor Ngwadom Kingsley Chinedu partly read "Hon Godfrey Obiagwu Aluka was the first elected Chairman of Orlu North - East county which is the present day Ideato North and Ideato South Local Government Areas from 1962-1964.
Hon Godfrey Obiagwu Aluka was same time (1962-1964) the member representing Orlu North - East at the Owerri provincial Assembly known today as Imo State house of Assembly.
We expect the full participation of the Imo State House of Assembly as a former House of Assembly member. He was until death, the oldest former House of Assembly member and Local Government chairman in the whole of South East. He was aged 110 years "
