A faction of the Imo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP supported by Senator Hope Uzodinma and led by Barrister Nnamdi Anyaehie has declared allegiance to Senator Ahmed Markafi led National Caretaker Committee as the authentic national chairman of the Party after the apex court of the land affirmed the position of H/E Senator Ahmed Markafi as against that of H/E Alhaji Ali Modu Sheriff.

Chief Nnamdi Anyaehie, it may be recalled has been fully in charge of the secretariat of the Party located along Okigwe road, Owerri. His faction of the state working Committee lays joint claim to legitimacy with that led by Chief Babatunde Charles Ezekwem who was produced by a congress strongly supported by a former Deputy Speaker of the Nigerian House of Representatives, Hon Emeka Ihedioha.

Now that the Supreme Court has laid to rest everything concerning the national leadership of the Party to rest with the affirmation of Senator Markafi as the chairman of the Party, attention is expected to shift to Imo State, where a serious ego war is set to commence.

Meanwhile, in a press release issued by, Bar Enyinnaya Onuegbu, the State Publicity Secretary of the Bar Nnamdi Anyaehie led State Working Committee of the Imo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, "members and supporters of the PDP Imo State chapter have become aware of the Judgement delivered by the Supreme Court of Nigeria this morning affirming the legitimacy of His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Makarfi led National Caretaker Committee Chairman of our great party. As law abiding citizens, we accept this judgement of the apex court of our Nations Judicial Authority and believe that for all purposes, it is good that an ending to this episode in our political party has come finally"

Continuing, Bar Enyinnaya Onuegbu stated that, "in the interim, we urge all our members to remain calm in all circumstances while awaiting  further political and democratic developments "
