*Uche Nwosu Bags Youth Ambasador of Sports Award

The maiden edition of Ugwumba youth football tournament for all the 27 Local Government Areas of Imo State sponsored by the Chief of Staff, Imo State Government, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu has ended in grand style with the Ehime-mbano LGA thrashing ISOPADEC FC team to emerge the Champion.

The thrilling encounter of international class which held inside the football pitch of the prestigious Dan Anyiam stadium Owerri witnessed the presence of one of the finest Nigerian football export and former Barcelona of Spain attacker, Emmanuel Amuneke as Special guest of honor among other intimidating dignitaries.

All that the sharp shooting Ehime-mbano team needed to lift the trophy was two goals that were scored at first half of the game making it possible for them to lift the Golden trophy and loads of cash that accompanied it.

They defeated the more experienced and professional ISOPADEC FC plying their  sports trade in the Imo FA and registered with the NNFL whom many thought could win.

Though ISOPADEC FC started the second half with a more offensive spirit, with a lot of strikes that hit the wood works, some saved by the resilient Ehime-mbano goalkeeper,  they found the defense a hard knot to Crack there by making their attempt an impossible task.

Highpoint of the occasion was the award of Imo Youth Ambasador of Sports bestowed on Nwosu by Ex-footballers for his unquantifiable role in youth and sports development in the state.

The football tournament attracted the presence of who is who in the state including the Senator representing Okigwe Zone, Rt Hon Benjamin Uwajumogu, the member representing Okigwe South in the Federal House of Representatives, Hon Deacon Chike John,  Senator representing Owerri Zone ably represented by Chief Elvis Okwu popularly known as Sweet Apple, other federal and state legislators,  Commissioners, SAs, PAs, Professional of different fields, Captains of Industries and numerous football fans and supporters.
