The Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN),in collaboration with Imo State government has set aside this year's World Music Day, June 21st to celebrate a global brand and iconic Imo-Nigeria daughter, Cynthia Erivo for distinguishing herself in the world stage by being the first Nigerian to win a Tony, a Grammy and now an Emmy award.

The Ezinihite Mbaise British born UK Actor/ Singer-Songwriter/Fitness Fiend/Tony, Grammy, Emmy winner!!, stands as a bragging right in the fortunes profile of the state and happening in the reign of the rescue mission, our own time, says the Senior Special Assistant to Imo State Governor on Entertainment, Hon Chukwunonye Irouno.

The homecoming which coincidences with the world music Day will afford the state government an opportunity to appreciate and reward Imo Artistes for their unrelenting efforts and commitment in skills and talents development.

According to a press release from the Senior Special Assistant to Imo State Governor on Entertainment and made available to Ifeanyicy.com, "June 21st World Music Day,will be that happy day of financial redemption and further empowerment platform for Imo Artistes.No matter the time it takes, there should be no good bye to success for the living." he stated.

Governor, Okorocha who was happy over the successes of Imo sons and daughters in the entertainment industry, while congratulating Cynthia Erivo listed as member of FORBES’ 30 Under 30 Europe 2017, with one step closer to an EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony), urged the Imo youths to keep the success candle light always shining.

Meanwhile, world living legend, Oprah Winfrey has congratulated Cynthia Erivo for her great achievement, in a tweet the Color Purple producer Oprah Winfrey wrote: “Tony.. Grammy.. now Emmy. Sister Cynthia take your 3d bow.”

The USA Emmy Grammy Award winner, particularly of Imo descent, you could recall is the first Nigerian in the entertainment industry to come this far.
With Nigeria multiple talents and waves in music had made many unsuccessful attempts through the likes of Femi Anikulapo Kuti, 2Face Idibia, WizKids, Olamide among others to win this award.
Only some Africans had won this greatest global entertainment award since its inception January 25th 1949, they include : Beyonce, Wouter Kellerman, Ladysmith, Youssou N' Dour., Ali Farka, etc.

Thanking God, Cynthia through her Twitter and Instagram handles (@cynthiaerivo) said : “To every single person in my cast you are magnificent,”  “Thank you so much for lifting me up when I’m tired, for holding my hands when I’m happy, for kissing me on my forehead when I just need some love.” “OH MY GOD!!!! AN EMMY,”

She added: “In times like this I call my mother. I called her, it was like she had won it herself! The best feeling ever. #love #mummiesgirl” Cynthia wrote on Twitter shortly after the announcement.
