After years of pains battling for survival, Nigerians are heartbroken to hear that Nigeria Professional Football League coach, Kelechi Emeteole, popularly known as Caterpillar has passed on at an Indian hospital .
Ifeanyicy.com gathered that the former Green Eagles player has been diagnosed with cancer of the throat and has consequently lost his voice. He equally cannot breathe properly but does that with by the aid of a pipe linked to his throat on the neck.
Coach Kelechi Emeteole has managed Nigerian clubs like Enyimba, Lobi Stars, Heartland, Elkanemi Warriors and Enugu Rangers in the past.
Emeteole before his death was said to have been having serious difficulties in breathing and was supposed to have a surgery in India, but passed on at the final stage of his medical therapy.
Confirming his death, Sports journalists, Solomon Onu (Solo Mourinho) who spoke to late coach wife, Lolo Emeteole reported that Kelechi Emeteole died Wednesday morning, June 21, 2017.
The wife stated that the tragic death of her husband called 'Caterpillar' would remain in her memory.
''Yes, my husband is dead as he could not make the final surgery to remove the pipe on his neck, and so sad that I am now a widow,'' the wife was quoted to have said.
