Chief Darlington in his habit of giving and impacting essence and value to the society become the first person to "Order a Made in Imo Car" to encourage the carmaker, Engr. Ephraim Akwuiwu.
The business mogul made this known during a call in program on one of the radio stations in Imo State.
While Mr Ephraim was discussing the essence of supporting local productions, Chief Darlington called in, and after praising the state Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, for all his goodwill and creation of an enabling environment for innovation went ahead to announce the august gift.
Live on radio the humanitarian, announced that he was going to fund Engr Ephraim to produce one armoured vehicle for him.
While speaking to newsmen later in his Owerri residence, the philanthropist noted that it was time the elites and people of goodwill and financial background began to express more selfless attributes.
Continuing, he stated that it was of great essence to each an everyone of the well to do folks to see to it that their wealth is used to achieve something meaningful especially the development of local technology and innovation.
He urged the government to create a fund to help young innovators in order to help them achieve their goals.
He averred that in other climes, funds exist to support innovative ideas, because once innovation is not backed by adequate funding the Innovator plummets and becomes highly demoralized.
He thanked Engr. Akwiwu for rekindling the Igbo spirit of innovation and development.
An elated Engr. Akwiwu elicited signs of joy and couldn't thank the Chief Darlington enough for making the order.
