In a bid to appreciate outstanding stewardship in democracy, the People of Owerre Nkworji in Nkwerre local government Area of Imo State over the weekend organized a grand Reception and Thanksgiving Service in honour of their illustrious son, Hon. Sir. Jones Chukwudi Onyereri (KSP), the amiable representative of Nwangele, Njaba,  Nkwerre and Isu Federal Constituency and Chairman of the house Committee on Banking and Currency, for his victory at the poll for the second time and for the wonderful representation of his constituency.

The event which took place at Central School, Owerre Nkworji crowned with a Thanksgiving Service officiated by the most Rev. B. C. L Okoro, PhD witnessed the convergence of politicians of repute including the former Governor of Imo State, Ikedi Ohakim, H/E Dr Okwesilieze Nwodo, Dr John Nnia Nwodo, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, Justice Nwosu Iheme, Representatives of Imo State Governor, Peoples Democratic Party Caucus both at the Federal and State, Members of the National Assembly past and present, Captains of Industries, Traditional Rulers, Community Leaders,members of the academia, and host of other dignitaries.

Reading the citation of Hon Jones Onyereri, Prof  Ngozi Ezenwa said, "The need to provide the dividends of democracy and empower his people lead Hon Jones Onyereri to contest the 2011 election to the House of Representatives. In recognition of hi leadership qualities, unparalleled humility and the zeal to improve the lives of his people, the good people of Nkwerre_Nwangele_Njaba_Isu federal Constituency of Imo State elected him to the House of Representatives. In recognition of his stellar representation in the 7th National Assembly, his constituents re-elected him to a second term in the House of Representatives thus making him the first person since the inception of our current democratic journey to be elected for a second term in his area for the position of House of Representatives.

Speaking with news men, Hon Jones expressed his gratitude to his Community for appreciating him, in a wonderful way.

The Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki was represented by his chief of staff, Dr Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, Speaker House of Representatives, Rt Hon Yakubu Dogara was represented while Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha was represented by his Chief of Staff, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, Former Deputy Speaker, Federal House of Representatives, Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha, Former Minister of Aviation, Senator Stella Odua, Senator Ben Obi, Representatives of CBN Governor, and host of other dignitaries gathered in solidarity to Hon Jones Onyereri.
