Two out of a four man gang of criminals who specialized in stealing motorcycles at gunpoints, were on weekend burnt to death by an angry mob when luck ran out on them.
The incident, eyewitnesses told our correspondent on Sunday occurred at the bank of a River called umuezeanyanwu in Alaiyi - Obollo in the Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State on Saturday evening.
The sources said that a four man gang of criminals operating in a Camry car had stopped a motorcyclist at Obollo market square , very close to the scene of the crime , pretending to be customers who he would take to a destination they don't know, along the LGA headquarters .
Two out of the four man gang boarded the motorcycle while the other two zoomed off in the Camry, but after driving up to a few distance, the criminals forcefully stopped him on a gunmen point, robbed fresh peppers in their victim's eyes before peddling off with the motorcyclist which was said to be newly bought.
"the motorcyclist quickly raised the alarm which attracted the attention of his co-motorcyclists at the market square which was not too far from where the robbery took place. They mobilized and ran after them without minding if the guys will shoot them. They eventually caught up with them at the bank of the river and wasted no time in beating them to pop before setting them on fire before any luck could come their way ". One of the sources said.
The eyewitnesses explained that the two other gang members in the camry abandoned their partners in crime and ran for their lives.
" before they were set ablaze, they confessed that they had been in the illicit business for a while and hailed from Ngwa in Abia state. One locally made gun, dagger and knife were found in their possession ". Another source said.
