Former Secretary to the Imo State Government, Chief Jude Ejiogu has noted that the country Nigeria is naturally blessed but bad leadership has endangered its economy. He made this statement in his latest article published on the Newpoint Newspaper on April 26th, entitled, Nigeria: A dichotomy of leadership and economy. Chief Ejiogu wrote:

“In the past, an average leader who narrowly finds him or herself in the corridors of power sees that as an ample opportunity through which the nation’s treasury is siphoned, with little or no regard for the general development of the society. This menace should be curbed to give way for rapid reinvigoration of the hitherto ravaged economy.”

He opines that insatiable wants and human greed are obviously drivers of corruption, while corruption fuels bad governance and erodes public confidence.
