Bongo Center will be witnessing a convergence of musical legends and politicians on Saturday March 25, 2017 as Bongo Music maestro, Shama Melody launches his album titled ‘Nwa Teacher’. Shama Melody who made a smashing entrance into the bongo music scene with the album ‘Motor Mixture’ is looking forward to recreating the same fairytale vibe that swept the feet of bongo music lovers across the globe. Being one of the ranking Bongo Musicians in Imo State, Shama Melody has also maintained steady consistency of getting better with every fresh stage appearance, an attribute which has earned him a spot among the ‘Bongo Lords East Of The Niger and South Of The Sahara’ according to the Senior Special Assistant to Imo State Governor on Entertainment and Public Affairs, Hon. Chukwunonye Iruno, whose office is partnering with the singer on the event. He further described Shama Melody as a gift from God to ensure that the Bongo Music culture which originates from Imo State, lives forever.

Hon. Iruno whose office is overseeing the revamping of the entertainment industry in Imo State, said: “Bongo Music is a universal language that is enjoyed by even people who don’t speak Igbo, but it is only spoken by Imolites. There are thousands of Bongo artistes within and outside the country, but I can categorically say that Shama Melody has remained outstanding. He has paid his dues in the game and it’s time for him to be celebrated.

“He and his colleagues in the Bongo Music business have vowed that this special gift to Imo State does not die, by ensuring that the legacies are carried on and also packaged in a better way”

The event will be chaired by the Secretary to Imo State Government, Sir George Eche while Imo State Deputy Governor, His Excellency, Prince Eze Madumere; Senator SamDaddy Anyanwu and Ugwumba Uche Nwosu are all on the list of special guests at the event.

High Chief Promise Offormezie, Ezebunafor, Ikenga Okigwe, Chairman, Prossy Group of Companies is among the other captains of industries expected to grace the event which will also have performances by other artistes.

The event will be taking on Saturday March 25, 2017 by 4:00pm at Bongo Center, Owerri, Imo State.
