The Imo State Chairman of All Progressive Congress, APC, Chief Hilary Ekeh has rendered a written unreserved apology to HRH Eze Cletus Ilomuanya, Obi of Obinugwu and Chairman Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers over defamatory publications against him.

The embattled  Chairman of APC in Imo State,  Chief Ekeh, has written " an unreserved apology letter" to Eze Ilomuanya over some defamation publications he made against him in two national newspapers in 2014. Ekeh who is already facing criminal charges before an Abuja Chief Magistrate Court over the said defamatory publications, Ifeanyicy.com gathered will on conviction,  may bag 14 years jail term or more.
In his apology letter,  also endorsed by his lawyer, Dr Ikenna Ihezuo, dated February 26, 2017 with his seal as member of Nigerian  Bar  Association, NBA, appealed for Eze Ilomuanya's forgiveness  as he has now found out defamatory and libellous information against the reputation of HRH Eze (Dr.) Cletus Ikechukwu Ilomuanya.

" I Dr. Hilary Ekeh, State Chairman, All Progressive Congress, APC, Imo State,  do hereby sincerely apologise to Eze ( Dr.) Cletus Ilomuanya on the article published as advertorials on page 60 of the Daily Sun Newspaper of Friday, 15th  August, 2014 of Vol. 10 No 2948 and on page 101 of Thisday Newspaper of Sunday, 17th August, 2014 Vol. 19 No.7054" the letter read.
According to Ekeh, "these publications are wrong and without any legal justification and I sincerely apologise to Eze (Dr) Cletus Ilomuanya , the Obi of Obinugwu and Traditional Ruler of Obinugwu Autonomous Community in Orlu Local Government Area of Imo State and South East Council of Traditional Rulers.

The Ruling Party in Imo, APC State Chairman said that he regretted  the untold hardship and disrepute the false publication may have  caused the monarch and his Family and therefore "retract the entire advertorials as published in the captioned newspapers".
