●Says : CPS Copiously Deceived Governor

Following the allegation being bandied about by the chief press secretary to the governor of Imo State, Sam Onwuemeodo, that a former senator, Ifeanyi Araraume, gave the chairman of Independent Newspapers Publishers Association, INPA, Elder Lambert Ojukwu, two million NAIRA in regard to the press statement issued in Owerri, the state capital by the Association requesting the state government to render an account of stewardship to the citizenry, the publishers have demanded the governor to launch a thorough investigation into it.

At a press briefing In Owerri on Thursday, the INPA chairman, Elder Ojukwu, called on the governor to overlook the rumor being spare headed by his CPS, that the Association was induced by monetary influence by  a politician in regard to the request of financial probity demanded from him by the Association he chairs .

The INPA helmsman stressed that such a weighty allegation by his spokesperson should not be treated with kids gloves, but should be handled with the high level of seriousness it requires.

Therefore, Elder Ojukwu, urged the Governor to constitute a panel of investigation to look into the weighty but pity allegation being paddled by the CPS who ought to be a good ambassador of his government.

According to him, Onwuemeodo, for selfish reasons best known to him chose to orchestrate the unfounded allegation to make fortunes for himself and to paint the governor black before the members of the public.

Elder Ojukwu who doubles as the publisher cum editor in Chief of the Nigeria Newspoint newspaper asked that if Onwuemeodo meant well for his boss, what prevented him from  approaching the leadership of INPA instead of summoning a few publishers in his private office at Oduobi crescent, Owerri, wherein he gave them N41,500 each to sell their integrity.

He maintained that a good media manager, ought not to be creating problems for his principal, but have the professional prowess to manage the image of the Governor and protect it from public ridicule.

Elder Ojukwu, promised to appear before any panel which is saddled with the impeccable responsibility of finding the authenticity of the allegation by the CPS, adding that the way Onwuemeodo is going, he had ended up making more enemies for the governor instead of friends.
