The former Sole Administrator of Okigwe LGA said he was still visibly pained over the sad development even as he recalled his long years of closeness with the family of foremost Senior Advocate Of Igbo Culture and Tradition.
Irouno said: "Indeed I visited his country home, Ndiogbuonyeoma, Ndibeuche, Aro-Amuro (Arondizuogu) Autonomous Community in Okigwe LGA of Imo State.
I witnessed arrangements for his interment to the mother earth in line with his unalterable specific instructions that, he must not be taken to the morgue, and that he must be buried few hours after his departure.
"As I write now, Prince Damian Nwankwo Okoye Emesuo, Perricomo, Ichie Mezuo, Arusi Makaja, Nnwa siri owere baa nneya awho, a foremost Senior Advocate Of Igbo Culture and Tradition, a worthy builder, preserver and projector of the people's heritage; an enigmatic poetry and proverbs genus, indeed a legendary indigenous music minister, is buried.
Continuing, the head of Imo state entertainment bureau, Hon Irouno said, "I was so sad to reckon with the fact that this great reservoir of wisdom and ancient history is gone.

In a short message the former Dean of Law Faculty, Imo State University,IMSU, Prof Obiaraeri posted on his Social media handle, he eulogised Ichie Pericoma when he said:

A philosopher with rich knowledge of Igbo proverbs. Pericoma died yesterday Thursday 16th, February 2017 at Owerri Hospital and has being buried same yesterday in keeping to his strict instructions during lifetime that his body should not be kept in mortuary after death. Though he asked children and family members to hold his burial ceremony afterwards.
