This was even even as the Governor demanded that the people of the zone get their fair share from the government at the center.
The Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, in a press statement in Owerri on Wednesday issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sam Onwuemeodo, who congratulated a former minister of information, Nnia Nwodo, for emerging the group's new president urged him to deploy his wealth of knowledge in making sure that Ohanaeze Ndigbo becomes what it ought to be.
He charged Nwodo and his team to bring their wealth of experience to bear in piloting the affairs of the Pan-Igbo Organization and pursue those Policies that would quicken the development and growth of the Igbo land in particular and Nigeria in general.
According to Governor Okorocha, "with the outcome of the Enugu election, one can conveniently vouch that the future is very bright for Ndigbo both at home and in diaspora and that Ndigbo would not have made better choices than the personalities that emerged in Enugu.
" He assured Nwodo and his team of the cooperation of the governors in the South-East and added that the Unity of Ndigbo including their leaders should be strengthened now, more than ever before, while ensuring that Ndigbo get their due in a corporate Nigeria".
