CHIDIEBUBE OKEOMA, OWERRI

The Governor of Imo State cum chairman of Progressives Governors Forum, Rochas Okorocha, has predicted that Nigerians would experience new lease of life in 2017, than they did in the past year.

The Governor equally predicted that the country's economy, infrastructure and other sectors would tremendously improve in the new year.

Okorocha, who gave the assurance in his new year goodwill message which was signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Sam Onwuemeodo, stated that there would light at the end of the tunnel.

The Governor said that despite the challenges of the past year, 2016, was good because the country recorded couple of successes.

He said “to the people of Imo State and Nigerians at large, let me use this opportunity to wish you a happy new year. As you are aware we are in this business of governance because it pleases you and God almighty to give us the opportunity to do so and represent you at a time like this. This honour can never be taken in vain or for granted”.

“Let me again assure all Imolites that this government will continue to deliver the dividends of democracy till the end of its tenure. You may recall that last we made a lot of promises, to God be the glory most of the things we promised have come to fruition”.

“Of note is that in the year 2016, we enjoined maximum security and peace in the land as we have never enjoyed in the history of Imo State. We shall continue with free education. To most people who never believed in the free education programme, it has been sustained despite recession” he added.
